Pattern Groups
Pattern Groups hold the potential to transform our growth as disciples of Jesus and we encourage everyone at St Mary’s to consider joining a Pattern Group. Over 60 people at St Mary’s are already in a Pattern Group. If you are not yet part of a group please complete the form at the bottom of this page to sign up and register your interest.
What are Pattern Groups?
Pattern Groups are small groups of 3 or 4 people, meeting together at least monthly, to share life, faith, prayer and support for one another. Pattern Groups are designed for us to explore healthy Spiritual patterns and help us grow as followers of Jesus. Pattern Groups meet flexibly when and where it suits members of each group.
When do they meet?
Pattern Groups once established will meet at least monthly. We will also have termly gatherings to share testimonies from Pattern Groups and in-put on how to get the most out of them.
How do they work?
Initially, Pattern Groups will provide space to take it in turns to share pivotal people, places and events in our lives and to notice a pattern through our stories. After this initial phase, we’ll take it in turns to select a practice of the Christian life (see the Pattern Practices Library – https://practicingtheway.org/), use a resource (e.g. podcast or chapter of a book) and put it into practice before we next meet. The next meeting can then focus on this practice as well as giving time to share and pray together. We encourage every person in the group to keep a journal to track key insights.
