Operations Manager
Operations Manager
St Mary’s Church, East Molesey, is seeking an Operations Manager to support our vision: Love Jesus, Love Others, Serve the World. This part-time role (15-20 hours/week) involves overseeing St Mary’s operations including events, communication, finance and HR, ensuring smooth operations across the different areas of St Mary’s.
Key Responsibilities:
To help the Vicar manage the church staff team, including direct line management of the Cafe Community Lead and Administrator.
To support the Vicar on all operational matters, including day-to-day decision-making and escalating issues when necessary.
To oversee the annual church calendar and support the planning and execution of programmes and events.
To coordinate all church communications, working with the Vicar and staff team to establish priorities and delegate tasks where appropriate.
To proactively identify and implement new ways for the church to generate income through events, partnerships, grants, and creative use of church resources.
To be a committed, supportive and collaborative member of a small staff team.
To offer a warm welcome to all who visit the church.
Requirements:
Committed Christian and active church member
Strong organisational and leadership skills
Proven experience in team management, including delegation and conflict resolution
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High energy, flexibility and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a faith-based environment
Proactive and creative thinker with experience in identifying and implementing new revenue generating opportunities.
Salary: £30,940 pro rata (£13,260 - £17,680)
